Encryption in Transit

Every connection to CleverUtils.com is secured with HTTPS (TLS). This applies to all interactions with our service:

• File uploads — your files are encrypted during transfer from your device to our servers. No third party can intercept or read the data in transit.
• File downloads — converted files are delivered back to you over the same encrypted connection.
• Website browsing — all pages, API calls, and resources are served exclusively over HTTPS.

We do not accept unencrypted HTTP connections. All HTTP requests are automatically redirected to HTTPS.

Automatic File Deletion

CleverUtils.com does not store your files long-term. Our automated cleanup process runs continuously and permanently removes files on a strict schedule:

• Successfully converted files — both the original upload and the converted output are automatically deleted within 2 hours.
• Failed conversions — original files are kept for up to 7 days for error analysis, then permanently deleted.

This deletion is automatic and irreversible — no manual intervention is required and no file can be recovered after deletion. You do not need to request deletion; it happens on its own.

No Human Access

Your files are processed exclusively by automated systems. No one on our side views, reads, or manually accesses uploaded files at any point during the conversion process.

• Automated pipeline — files are received, converted, and served by software with no human involvement.
• Isolated processing — each conversion runs in its own process, separate from other users' files.
• No content inspection — we do not scan, analyze, or index the contents of your files. The conversion engine reads only the technical data it needs to perform the format transformation.

Minimal Data Collection

CleverUtils.com is designed to work without collecting personal information. Here is what we do and do not collect:

• No account required — you can convert files without registering, providing an email address, or creating any kind of profile.
• No personal data — free conversions require zero personal information.
• IP addresses — logged temporarily for rate limiting and abuse prevention only. Not used for tracking or profiling.
• No tracking cookies — we do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts beyond essential site functionality.
• Conversion logs — we log the format type and timestamp of conversions for service monitoring. File names and contents are not included in logs.

Transparency

We believe a security page is only as good as the operational habits behind it. That is why we publish everything we ship:

• Public changelog — every fix, new converter, and infrastructure change is written down with a timestamp. No silent rollouts.
• Open-source foundation — our conversion engine is built on well-audited libraries (FFmpeg, ImageMagick, LibreOffice, Ghostscript, Pandoc) rather than proprietary black boxes.
• Incident reports — when something breaks, we fix it and explain what happened in the changelog so you can judge our handling for yourself.
• Security-first defaults — 2-hour file deletion, sandboxed per-job directories, SSRF protection on URL-based tools, and strict input validation on every endpoint.

GDPR Compliance

CleverUtils.com processes data in accordance with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Lawful basis — file processing is based on your explicit action of uploading a file for conversion (legitimate interest and consent).
• Data minimization — we collect and process only the data strictly necessary to perform the conversion you requested.
• Right to deletion — files are automatically deleted within 2 hours, but you can also request immediate deletion of any data by contacting us.
